As part of Maserati's goal to broaden its impact, the Italian automaker announced the 2023 Grecale will be its second SUV, with the Levante as the first. Maserati first teased this luxury crossover SUV in 2020, but it's finally making its debut for the 2023 model year. With seating for five people, the 2023 Maserati Grecale makes quite a statement in its augural year, thanks to a premium interior highlighting a state-of-the-the art infotainment system and a sharp exterior found on all three trims.
Trim Levels
When shopping for the 2023 Maserati Grecale, you can choose among three trims: GT, Modena, and Trofeo. This brand-new SUV is about 6 inches smaller than the Levante. The GT has 19-inch alloy wheels, while the other two have either 20- or 21-inch ones. Colors are specific to each trim with the GT using bronze, the Modena is light blue-gray, and the Trofeo is yellow.
Engine
The standard 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine produces 296 horsepower on the base trim, while this same engine is on the Modena but cranks out 325 horsepower. According to Maserati, vehicles with this standard take five seconds to go from zero to 60 mph. The top-of-the-line Trofeo trim has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine that delivers an impressive 523 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. Every engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive.
Performance
Regarding fuel economy, the 2023 Maserati Grecale achieves decent numbers. The turbo-six engine gets 18 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway. To enhance the vehicle's performance, it has five different driving modes: Comfort, GT, Sport, Off-Road, and Corsa, though this last mode is available only with the Trofeo.
Interior
