Maserati of The Main Line

Nothing is better than ice cream on a hot day, and Devon, PA delivers in this regard. Not literal delivery, though: you’ll want to tell the voice-activated, dual-zone air conditioning in your Maserati Levante to crank it and then drive yourself over for a cone, shake, sundae, or other sweet treat at one of these spots.

Handel’s Homemade

Handel’s is a local institution. Find them at 573 E Lancaster Ave in Berwyn, and they’re open from 11am daily. They close at 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights and at 9pm all other nights. They’ve always got at least 45 flavors going, and their website will tell you which ones are available on any given day. You’ll definitely find something for everyone in the family with flavors like chocolate raspberry truffle, orange dream cream, cinnamon sticky bun, banana cream pie, deep dish apple pie, and many more, including all the staples.

They also do ices, sherbets, hurricanes (adding in whatever candies you like), milkshakes, sundaes, and “Handel pops,” which are your choice of flavor dipped in chocolate and put on a stick. They have all the standard cones and cups, pints and quarts, and you can even get sugar-free flavors if you have someone in your party with that need. They even make a “Dogster” or “Frosty Paws” for your four-legged friend.

The Sugaree

The Sugaree is in The Suburban Building at 134 N Wayne Ave in Wayne. They’re closed on Mondays and open 1 to 9pm the rest of the week. In addition to their fabulous dairy desserts, they also have a cool selection of retro candies. They have a solid selection of flavors, including lots of gluten-free options and all the standards, as well as some interesting ones, like the Cookie Monster. Get a cup or a cone, which can be pretzel, waffle, sugar, or cake, or try one of their many other options.

They have water ice and water ice gelati, shakes, sundaes, floats, and a nice selection of cakes. If you choose a shake or sundae, you can build your own or ask them to make one of their specialities. We’re partial to the peanut butter delight shake, which has crushed Reese’s cups, peanut butter and chocolate sauces, and whipped cream.

Capri

If you’re in the mood for something Italian, you’ll find Capri right by The Sugaree at 238 Lancaster Ave in Wayne. They’re open from 1pm to 9pm on Saturday and Sunday, and from 3pm to 9pm the rest of the week. Capri specializes in water ice, which comes in lots of standard flavors, like lemon, cherry, and chocolate, but also in rotating fun flavors. Their soft-serve is amazing: it’s a bit pricey, but give it a shot – because this isn’t run-of-the-mill soft-serve from a fast food joint.

Once you’ve had your icy treat, come see us at Maserati of the Line for service on that Levante.
